Layouts

First of all, I apologize for not being able to put ideas down on paper well, but I will try my best to describe them in further detail here. Also, sorry for the lateness.

Level 1 - The Forest/Research Lab

My idea was to have a river separate the halves of the forest that contained the underground entrance and research lab respectively.

The bottom half (with research lab) is up on a cliff. The cliff begins immediately beside the river. Furthermore, the research lab is on a hill, so the player has to walk down slope towards the makeshift bridge that the aliens had created for the attack to cross the ravine.

On the half of the forest with the underground entrance, there is a watch tower and a lake. To the left of the watch tower is dense forest, with a path leading to underground entrance clearly visible from the watch tower. The right of the lake is a huge clearing where the player is out in the open with no cover.

All sides of the map are bordered with thick forest/mountains.

Level 2 - Underground city

Level 3 - The transmitter building

The transmitter building itself has 2 levels. It is pretty straightforward.

The pic on the left is the ground floor, with swinging warehouse doors as the entrance. The hallway, flanked by raised ledges, leads up a ramp to the second floor. The walls on either side of the building are covered in computers and other electronic equipment. There is also a sliding door in the back, behind the ramp.

The pic on the right is the second level. It's very small as it only consists of the transmitter room and a wire mesh walkway all along the walls. The dotted lines depict waist-height wire railing, while the solid lines are full-length walls. The centre of the floor is hollow and looks into the ground floor. There is also a sliding door at the ramp with an outdoor staircase that leads to the ground floor outside the building.

The transmitter room has a window overlooking the ground floor. There are automatic sliding doors on each side of the room.

Levels 1 and 3 were done by me, and Level 2 by Tata. If you guys have any questions please ask us accordingly :D Thank you and sorry again for the delay.

Hi guys,

I am sorry I did not go to the presentation. I was sick the other day.

I think we need catch up for our assignment. Our game seems more like rpg other than deathmatch and it will make our assignment hard to keep going.

For Deathmatch, Normally the goal of a deathmatch game is to kill (or "frag", from the military term) as many other players as possible until a certain condition or limit is reached, commonly being a frag limit or time limit. Once one of these conditions is met, the match is over and the winner is the player that accumulated the greatest number of frags.---from wiki.

So I think the background story is not that important, the reason the story exists is just to give a reason to start killing. The way we did at the moment is more like rpg, actually we don't have to follow how the story goes.

For one of the most attractive things in deathmatch is map. But we don't have map now. So we should finish the map design as soon as possible.

Maybe we should set up small group to work together. Like Sev and Tata work as a group, and Daniel and Stephanie work as a group. Terry and I work together on the scripts.

These are just my thinking about the current situations.

But I do think we should meet up to talk about it. It's already week 4.

Cut scene scripts

Um so I wrote scripts for our cut scenes. Can someone please do a really quick sketch of these for Thursday, or we can do them collaboratively on Thursday. Don't worry that it looks like tons of work, we will probably end up having to cut them down later depending on time constraints.

It might be easier to view if you get the word document off Assembla that has all the formatting
